Frocktober 31: Final frock!

So Frocktober has been survived, no frock has been visited twice. I have enjoyed this, and I hope you have too. I would like to thank the wonderful people who have made this effort worthwhile with their generous donations and warm comments and I can proudly say that we have raised $570 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation!

Thank you friends,

Frocktober 30: Call Me

Something fun for fete day at the school, it's the "Call Me" dress - always a conversation starter! And here's another new clutch handbag and necklace for my Tango & James collection.

We have some thunder around currently... I love it!
Hope you're staying out of the rain... or jumping in the puddles,

Frocktober 29: Mod squad - not quite

This cute retro 70s dress has already got alot going on, so today, I'm keeping the accessories to a minimum.

Well Frocktober, I can see the finish line now, and I can confirm that I can make it to the end without repeating any frock! I never knew I had so many dresses - many are ones I don't wear enough! Lessons have been learned at the hands of necessity!

I have some big thankyous to make, so stay tuned...

Frocktober 28: Vintage inspired

GREAT NEWS!!! We have reached my fundraising goal - awesome! Thank you to those who have made generous donations... and if you were planning to, it's (of course) not too late, click here to check it out - lets see how much we can smash the goal posts!

Today's frock is another librarian length dress with dangerous curves, this time accessorised with red (click here to see it with yellow - love it!). I made it from a vintage Vogue dress pattern with modern fabric...

Today I'm wearing it with:
Tango & James earrings, bangle and brooch
Belt by Jolie
rather deadly shoes via Ebay

Frocktober 27: Little Black Dress

Today I won a small struggle to dress-down this little black dress... I've added a few unexpected colours into the mix with my accessories...

Cardi: Sportsgirl (5 or so years ago)
Bonds singlet
Knee socks from Alannah Hill
Tango & James bangle (again!)
Cutest ever earrings on etsy
And my boring brown belt and boots to keep it grounded and not-too-candy

I'm also road testing a new style of clutch handbag which will make it's debut at the next Handmade Market in December - you like?

Gorgeous day... have you been outside?

Frocktober 26: Boldly

A boldly striped door and a boldly patterned frock...

This is one I made but rarely wear... now, I don't know why I didn't!
I'm wearing it with my 'sensible' shoes: the heel is only 4cm high!

Frocktober 25: Surprised!

WELL... the simple catch up with a girlfriend I haven't seen in 'a while' turned into the shock of my life today, when she rocked up at the door with her 7 MONTH OLD BABY!!! Needless to say, he is so a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e... I die!

Lesson learned: Must make contact more often!
Thanks for an AWESOME morning D,

Frocktober 24: Out with the Gals

A movie date with the gal pals to see Eat Pray Love and a delish dinner to follow, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous!

Today's frock is from Alannah Hill at DFO. I'm loving that it's stretch allowed accommodation for my dinner and the whole packet of Maltesers I consumed during the movie! Ahem.

How was your weekend?

Tango & James: Reloved Revamped

Images just in, of my debut Tango & James fashion collection... and a twist... every piece is conceived from re-claimed materials and are one-of-a-kind items.
Shown as part of the collective of designers at Reloved: Revamped at Craft ACT at the end of September, here is my "Goodnight Moon" collection...

Quite a few pieces sold on the evening, and others are still available for sale, please contact me if you are interested or inspired!

Frocktober 23: Simple Saturday

Something easy going for a relaxed Saturday. This is a 'balloon dress' made from tshirt jersey with a simple belt, I've teamed it with some cute new shoes which arrived this week, and an op shop found hounds tooth print scarf.

Frocktober 20: In the black

A dress by Piper today, too short to wear without extra leg coverage - I'm wearing it with faux Black Rats (sorry Sass and Bide - love ya) and some more killer boots...

Frocktober 19: In the pink

I'd like to send a huge thank you to the gorgeous Tania McCartney who has featured my Frocktober challenge on her blog and put together a montage of the highlights for us! Also a big thank you those who have donated so far - your support is so appreciated!

I'm still aiming to raise $500, so we're on the way... but I'd love to see more go into the OCRF kitty, so let's do it Canberra's Got Style...

So, to today's outfit...

Teetering around in high heels is not a drama when they're as cool as my favourite boots... they go nicely with today's frock, a self made pink and brown number...

Like strawberries and chocolate!
Hope you're having a sweet day,

Frocktober 18: The illusion dress

Today, a black and white stripe frock made originally to wear dressed up to a wedding. Here, it dresses down just as well...

I'm loving the illusion of great form, thanks to the converging curved lines, check out how I made it here.

Frocktober 16: Pippi Longstocking

It's freeeeezing today (relative to Spring anyway)... but I thought a little colour would brighten the gloominess of this grey day. Here's a little look at the 'project' I mentioned on Thursday... turns out I scored one table for my study and this one for our entry/hall. The timber details are gorgeous, but it will need re-finishing - to paint or stain?

I also couldn't help myself at Typo (again!!!) and bought the cuckoo clock - which I may or may not paint.

The frock is a vintage Ebay find in baby pink, big buttons on the front and knife pleats all around the skirt - it's actually a very demure dress - but not when you add Pippi Longstocking legs (more Alannah Hill)!

Frocktober 15: um.. hello?

Mother nature, turn of the tap lady! We're about to see a mudslide.

Loving my knee high legwarmer/sock thingies (from Top Bargain - shh don't tell anyone) and my "My Little Car Jacket" from Alannah Hill (squee!), bought today at DFO.

Hope your weekend isn't too soggy,
Love Nina x

Frocktober 14: Sneaky stripes

A slightly sheer vintage beige frock today, teamed with bold black and white stripes beneath... sneaky? I snuck off to a Fyshwick auction house this morning to collect my next project... something new for my home office/studio/atomic disorganised chaos - I do hope this helps!

Please sponsor my Frocktober challenge here.

Frocktober 13: beautiful rain

I adore a rainy day, and with children in tow, I can have them as an excuse to jump in the puddles! This morning we dusted off the umbrellas and walked to school, gumboots and all!

Today's dress is called the "Super spy" dress, it's by retro label Heartbreaker and think it's pretty awesome and easy to accessorise - even if it looks way more awesome on the model!

Hope you get to jump in some puddles too!
