Oh yesss: Alannah Hill at DFO... LOVE IT

It's the best news I've had all year ;-), a few short weeks ago Canberran fashionistas were given a Christmas present to behold, yes Australia's very own girly glam fashion designer Alannah Hill has opened an outlet store at DFO!
Alannah is one of my fashion heros, check out her story and beautiful work at her terribly adorable (but flash heavy) website here... *sigh*

At the DFO outlet you can expect rack and racks of markdowns on her cute detailed cardis, skirts, dresses - glam and sassy business looks, accessories too gorgeous to leave behind... and girls don't be shy, I'm told that if the outlet is a success, we could just get our very own Alannah Hill boutique. I think Canberra ladies are savvy enough to go for it!!!
I'm so in love, I'm going to be poor after my next visit!!!
Love love love it!

and happy weekend, Love Nina x

Did you know that Alannah Hill uses fur in her designs? I just found out that her collections use real fur that most likely comes from China – where there are no animal rights regulations. Animals that come from fur farms live in horrifying, cramped and filthy conditions only to end their lives by being skinned alive! There’s a petition here to ask Hill to stop killing animals in the name of fashion. Visit the link to find out more.

The Alannah Hill store in Canberra has the most irritating staff who use the line "I have that (insert item you are looking at and deciding whether to buy) and I love it" for every item you and everyone else in the shop looks at. I don't really care what they "love".

More irritating than that though, is they will not exchange anything for any reason as they say everything is a " sale item". Being situated at DFO, I expect everything to be discounted (previous years' and seasons' stock) and other shops at DFO will exchange.

Allanah Hill in Canberra is the biggest dissapointment. Even though I love Alannah Hill, I wouldn't buy my clothes there. It saves myself from the irritating young over dressed staff who know nothing about clothing/fabrics/material and the lack of after sale service.
