HomeMADE: local star

Here's some exciting news I discovered a little while ago... Canberran Interior Design whiz Tonie Sauers (pictured second from right) has been cast in Channel Nine's newest blockbuster program, homeMADE. I'm particularly keen to see how she goes, having studied along side her at CIT. I'm also excited because it seems to be a strong departure from the rennovate-for-charity-cases and lame decorating programs which have been dominating the genre for years.

"The Nine Network’s homemade is the biggest renovation competition ever attempted on television. Ten talented designers from around Australia will compete for a $100,000 cash prize when they take on the biggest challenge of their lives — to completely makeover two suburban family homes every week. "

My great hope is that the focus of the show is on the actual design and rennovating work, not about who is fighting with who - or I could really do my Block ;-)

Check it out here, homeMADE airs on channel 9 at 6:30pm May 10. I'll be there with bells on!
Go Tonie!
Love Nina x

Oooh, how exciting that we have some local talent in there! Like you, I am really hoping the show focuses on the design and renovation of each home, rather than the latest squabble. Will defo be watching. Go Tonie!
