It's here...The Wine & Cheese Providore is Canberra's new destination for lovers of fine wine, artisan cheeses and quality gourmet produce, with a wide range of cheeses, quality produce and small goods.
The bottle shop, is stocked with an amazing array of wines from the everyday tipple to rare and unusual bottles for cellaring and special occasions. The cellar includes a dedicated room of French wines. And, incredibly, if ever there is a drop they don't have, part of the amazing service is shipping it in just for you. I couldn't resist this cheeky bottle of Bitch, "people buy it the first time because it's funny, and come back for more because it's good".Separated due to liquor licensing, the Cheese department and cafe, just up the stairs offer a fabulous produce driven breakfast drawing on much of the specialty product available in store and is open from early morning seven days a week. On display up here are premium local and imported artisan cheeses, fresh bread and gourmet small goods. Dine in (or take it away) for great coffee and fresh sandwiches, baguettes, salads and cakes that have all been made on the premises. The Wine and Cheese Providore is at Manuka Terrace, Flinders Way, Manuka. Hi Nin,
Thanks for the good tips of cheese n wine for the w/end. I will grab tomorrow, friday!
Hubby love them. I myself keep for water & coke... am a typical asian that can't drink!
Try an italian wine too: "Amarone" this is really good (as my whole bunch of drinking friends reckoned)
Have a nice w/nd downunder.

A good story
GK Chesterton: “The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.”
Voila: www.tastingtoeternity.com. This book is a poetic view of 30 of the best loved French cheeses with an additional two odes to cheese. Recipes, wine pairing, three short stories and an educational section complete the book.
From a hectic life on Wall Street to the peace and glories of the French countryside lead me to be the co-founder of www.fromages.com. Ten years later with the words of Pierre Androuet hammering on my brain:
“Cheese is the soul of the soil. It is the purest and most romantic link between humans and the earth.”
I took pen and paper; many reams later with the midnight oil burning Tasting to Eternity was born and self published.
I believe cheese and wine lovers should be told about this publication.
Enjoy.
It must be a great place to drink good French wine... moderately ;)
